Eirena tales

The past couple of days we were in Houston visiting Dr. Daddy's brother and family. As we were driving there Eirena suddenly perked up with "William and Louis have TRAINS!". Indeed, they have quite a train collection and Eirena was just thrilled to play with them.

A couple of weeks ago we borrowed a book from the library about visiting a fire station. Eirena really liked the book, but hasn't talked much about it since we returned it. I assumed she had basically forgotten about it. But then, while we were taking a walk with her cousins, she burst out with "William! Stop! Don't Run. Stop. Drop and Roll." (William was not on fire, but just running around in the street.)

I put Eirena down for a nap at her cousins' house. After nap time I gathered up her "preciouses" and put them in a bag. Unfortunately Fuzzy Bear crawled out of the bag and we didn't notice until we arrived back at Tayta's house (~1hr away). Oh dear. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth occured. After many false starts the child finally fell asleep in our bed, was moved to her pack'n'play, woke up in the middle of the night and rejoined us in bed. And then she woke up again in the middle of the night wanting "hot milk". Yeah right. We firmly told her we would not be getting up as it was dark outside and not time to be drinking hot milk. Water would have to suffice. It was a rather sleepless night for us.

Eirena's little logic is pretty amusing. She went from talking about how it is not our job to clean the splash pool (swimming pool) to Isaiah's job of telling people that Jesus was coming. Pretty easy transition, right? And then she said, "Jesus is coming in the splash pool." (And really, I do think that trumps "when is Jesus coming down the chimney?" as said by my own dear brother.)
