Hiking in "God's Country"

Yesterday we went hiking in "God's country". Well, really it was a fairly level walk. I think there were two inclines. Eirena and Üç started out walking, and all told, walked about 1 mile each. And then they both got carried for the rest of the 5 mile "hike".
We discovered while walking, that the State Parks here, like the highways, byways and roads are generally foreigner unfriendly. Signs are few and far between and of limited value. For example, at one intersection (T-junction) there was no sign for what trail you had been on, and only two arrows pointing in opposite directions for the trail that went in a loop. No sign telling you where you were, what loop you were about to embark on or anything of the sort. Either they assumed that you already knew all this information, or it didn't matter because you could only go 3 ways, one of which you had already come up on.
Inspite of this, it was fairly enjoyable and sure wore the little ones out! Of course the camera was forgotten, so you'll just have to imagine the very cute image of Eirena holding Üç's leash, telling her to "walk".
