oh dear
We had hints of it, little signs, but nothing very dramatic. But last night we got a glimpse of how important routine and order is to our little two year old. We did something we have never done before... when we got home from a Home Depot outing, Dr. Daddy, instead of just normally driving into our driveway, reversed and backed the car in. Apparently this shook Eirena's sense of normalcy and stability. If we could back the car into the driveway, what else could drastically change in the world? (Oh little does she know the change headed her way!) She had to be coaxed out of the car. Once inside the house she was weepy over everything. When asked what was wrong, she replied that the car was up, not down (it is a sloped driveway). We tried to hide our laughter while simultaneously reassuring her that really, the car would be okay. She was less than comforted. Who knew that turning the car around would fundamentally shake her to the core? Who knew?!

Oh, poor baby! I'll bet that was a surprise to you and your hubby, that something so little could be so upsetting to your little one.
