Something strange in the neighborhood

This is a series of pictures of our carpets. Why? Because they give a pretty good measure of the strange precipitation depositing itself upon us today. I realize this is trivial for you from the frozen wastelands of the north, but we purposefully selected our location based on lack of white stuff. So at about 9 am rain turned to sleet and then snow.

and started accumulating on our carpets (which were drying on the deck)

at about 9:30am

(In case you were wondering why we were trying to dry our carpets in the snow... well, the weatherman is rather known for hyping up the bad weather potentials so while they predicted possible snow, I don't think they really meant this much snow. Oh... and I forgot yesterday when we were washing caffeine puke -another story- off of the one that it was supposed to snow/rain today. So now they will be out there waiting to dry on the next sunny day which will probably be in about 3 weeks. )

Oh Jeannette! This happened to us a month ago with our big room sized persian rug. I new it was going to freeze and rain and snow and that muddy water was going to drip on it but what are you going to do when your two year old vomits 6 times on your rug? At least here there is no other way to clean it but to get out the hose and the bucket of water with Tide! So it is now vomit free but not really clean either. I can wait for spring when all the curtains and rugs get a really good washing!
