Eirena is train-obsessed. [Shocked? You obviously haven't read this blog much or know her in the slightest bit. :)] Dr. Daddy and I have bought her some trains and she has great fun playing with them, retelling stories with them and creating drama in her train world. Slowly she was introduced to Thomas the Tank Engine. First just the books, then a few toys and then movies. And she grew to love them. And want them.
But have you seen how much those things cost???
So Dr. Daddy told her that she could earn the money to buy another train.
We came up with some jobs we thought she could do and the price for each of them.
We went to the store to get an idea of what she would like and how much it would cost.
And she did some jobs. Some she enjoyed doing, some she never wanted to do again.
She learned a little bit about doing a thorough job.
She dreamed about her train that she was going to buy.
And then, one day, we declared she had enough.
So we took her to the store, pointed out her options to her, showed her the generic trains and tried to sweet talk her into buying those and then left her to make her decision.
And this is what she chose.... Toby
She is very thrilled with herself and already is talking about earning the money to buy Toby some cars.
