Berji

Those that feel a certain animosity toward the feline species think Berji a perfect example of why cats should only be on the end of a kabob skewer. She is haughty and feels ownership over her surroundings. If she does not want your demonstrations of affection she will not, unlike a dog, put up with your scratching of her ear just to humor you.
But those who find the humor in cats' pride find Berji rather amusing, especially considering her runty little size. What is particularly impressive about her, is that for all her cattiness, she loves our children when they are babies. Toddlers and small children she can do without. But she was very gentle and tolerant with Eirena as a baby and even more so now with Eskil. They often nap together and when her jumping in his bed wakes him up she lets him pull on her and nuzzle with her. (We won't think about the extraordinary amounts of fur he has already ingested!)
And Eskil seems to think Berji is his special toy:

"Mine, all Mine!"

Eirena dares to do the same and reaps the consequences. Adisu, wisely, doesn't try it. But Eskil... he can do that and the worst he will get out of her is a "mawr".
