I am reveling in the smell of a new dishwasher. Not just because I love the smell of new appliances- actually I find that smell a little odd. But it signifies wonderful things. First, that our old dishwasher is no longer pretending to work. I must say pretending because it was getting to the point where I would put the dirty dishes in cleaner than I would take them out (after having run a full cycle). Figure that one out. Then it up and broke on us. Of course it didn't let us know this until after I loaded a full load of dishes, started it and watched it fill and not drain. But then it did drain. Onto the floor. And then it got water from the garbage disposal (I assume) into it and sat there for a few days before we noticed a horrid smell. And nothing would remove that smell from the kitchen and hence my nose. Meanwhile, two weeks of hand washing makes one very appreciative of modern conveniences.
So yeah, even though I haven't actually used it yet, I'm loving the new dishwasher and its funky new smell.
