We live 10 min from the airport.
There is no paid parking at the airport.
There is only one airline that flies into the city.
The security line isn't open all the time, only a bit before boarding.
Non passengers can watch passengers board the plane (no tunnel ramp, you walk out onto the tarmac) and watch the plane take-off.
And since there is no paid parking, you can sit and watch for as long as you like.
