This would have been the end of Bible study

Eirena is mildly fascinated by Eskil nursing. She has asked me to feed Fuzzy Bear and Little Dog Uc on different occasions and early on tried to help me express milk. (Good intentions, but better directed to something more useful.)
Last night she was sitting on my lap at the start of Bible study. She placed her hands strategically. I gently removed them. Then she pulled out my shirt and tried to peer inside. I pulled her in close for a hug. At this point I was so very glad that we have taught her how to whisper because she then said, "please mommy may I see the milk that comes out of your breasts, please". Oh dear.

But the rum! why is the rum gone?*

Tayta sent Eirena and Adisu books. Eirena's is a story about a puppy. We read one of the stories before nap time. We got to the end of the story. She was quiet. And then she flipped to the front of the book, on the first page, in the corner is a picture of a locomotive. Showing her incredible attention to important details, she said, "yeah, but, why aren't there any cars on the locomotive?"

Sometimes you don't realize how tied you are to the internet until you don't have it. Or the phone. Last Saturday our phone died. We could still make calls, but we couldn't receive them. On Monday we put in a service request. They said they would have it fixed by Thursday. Since it is only a local-calling phone it wasn't too big of an issue. But then Tuesday we couldn't make calls either. And then our internet went out. So I couldn't look up the store ads for grocery shopping, we didn't get the reminder calls from the doctor's office for Adisu's appointments. I couldn't look up where they were located because I didn't remember their names, or get directions once I found the slip of paper I on which I had written their names. And then we missed birth announcements, impending birth announcements and a few other important things like meeting our case worker for Adisu's adoption update (she had asked about a tentative meeting date which we never responded to because we didn't have email). It also made things like meeting up with Dr. Daddy who was away on a field trip Sat. and Sun. interesting since we share a cell phone. I felt very much in a fog without my ties to friends and family through the internet. Strange, because up until I went to college I didn't even have an email address.
But now we're back online! And we have a phone that works! Time to catch up on all that has been happening in the past week.
